View from Chapelle St. Antoine, near Utelle
The first day, we started walking in Levens, then dropped down, down, into the valley of the Vesubie, crossed a very, very old stone bridge, and then climbed back up, up, past the village of Cros d'Utelle to the 14th century Chapelle of St. Antoine. This drawing shows the view from the chapel. The buildings to the lower right were last inhabited in the early 1960's - the final residents after thousands of years... It rained all of the next day, so we spent two nights on a terrace next to the chapelle. This way to the next image of the walk... This way back to the introduction and map... | ![]() | ![]() |
